Give him the stick!

I’ll never understand why stick figures are so appealing. They’re so easy to draw, even a caveman could do it. They’re far less detailed than drawing actual people, which makes posing for them extremely limited. And yet, you can still do amazing things with stick figure animations (see the Xiao Xiao series and Animator vs. Animation II on Newgrounds). I’m not sure why, but I’m also starting to dig this webcomic called The Order of the Stick, a comic based on pen-and-paper roleplaying games (mostly Dungeons and Dragons, though). Maybe it’s because I can understand and appreciate the nerdy humor within, despite never having played a D&D campaign in my life. Or maybe it’s because it actually makes me laugh on occasion. Or perhaps because there’s only so much amateur anime-style art one can intake within a week. I’ve started digging throught he archives from comic #1 last week, and I’m still only on comic #187 of almost #500. Gotta keep going…
