Transform and roll out…the DVDs
It looks like the Transformers movie is going to come out on DVD in a few days. That means the movie has only been in and out of theaters for three months, when the usual theater-to-DVD turnaround is four months. Now, I haven’t actually seen the movie, even though I’ve watched most of the Transformers cartoons since I was about five years old. However, I wonder why the studio is so quick to get this out on the home market? Usually, only the genuinely crappy films do that (From Justin to Kelly, I’m looking at you). The Transformers flick made quite a bit of coin, so there’s at least someone out there who genuinely enjoyed it. Could it simply be a case of “striking while the iron’s hot?”
