Yep…I’ve reorganized and updated the “Fiction” section of the website with a few more “31 Days” entries I cross-posted to LiveJournal in the last few days (most of them are no longer than 200 words long). There’s one for Death Note, two for Mai-HiME, and another for Hayate the Combat Butler. No, I haven’t forgotten about my old Mystic story…but I suddenly feel motivated to start writing about that again. Maybe when the next day’s theme in 31 Days comes up, I’ll use characters from that series.

The recap for “Episode 2: After School Secrets” is now up. I also went back and updated the first one to include links to the TV Tropes Wiki for further analysis on the narrative devices and tropes used in the show. It looks like Mai’s starting to make new friends around Fuuka Academy, including the very cat-like Mikoto, who likes to run around on all fours for some reason. Mai winds up chasing after her brother Takumi, who gets lost and nearly dies looking for her. The last shot of the episode shows her dancing around a ring of fire, which can only mean bad things for the monster that tried to attack them…but since we’ve run out of time, we won’t get to see any of that in action until Episode 3.
Another 4-star effort…we’ll have to see how well Mai uses her newfound abilities next time.
