So, my dad’s downstairs this morning watching last night’s taping of TNA Impact! It’s been a while since I myself have watched anything wrestling-related in a while, so I was hoping that there’d be something good to tide me over for an hour on a Sunday morning. Okay, so we’ve got the Dudleys doing their usual mudhole stomp-through-a-table things. That’s all well and good. But then right after that, I get subjected to the re-introduction of…
“Stone Cold” Shark Boy? Are you serious? (Okay, the video clip is old, but you get the idea)
Man…it’s getting harder and harder for me to get back into pro wrestling…especially when TNA does stupid rip-off gimmicks like this one, WWE’s own parade of WTFery notwithstanding. Hasn’t Vince Russo done enough of these WWE repackaging deals enough already? (Voodoo Kin Mafia? V.K.M.? Right…like that’s not supposed to be a potshot at a certain “Up North” promotion.) Whatever happened to doing good wrestling angles “that’ll put butts in seats” and break WWE’s stranglehold on the ratings? Maybe I should just give up hope that this might actually be watchable again. *sigh*
