It worked
So, everything worked out well today. Sadly, my boss and I were the only ones who showed up, because everybody else in the department planned to use up a bit of their remaining vacation time. My workload was unbelievably light, so the boss let me go home early…that’s when I went out to do some shopping (Lucky Star Vol. 1 and Mai-Otome Vol. 6 Get!), and get myself a haircut.
After watching the first four episodes of Lucky Star, I’m…kinda wierded out by hearing the characters address each other with honorifics, even in the English dub, but I could probably get used to it. And the first six minutes on the proper way to eat food? That’s a bit too geeky, even for my tastes. Thankfully, the comedy starts to pick up a bit after that, though I may warn you…this is not recommended for beginners, as a lot of the anime references will go over your head if you’re not a regular anime watcher.
On the other side, can you believe it took twenty-two friggin’ episodes for Mai to finally make an appearance in Mai-Otome? Just one more volume (three episodes) to go, so she’s not going to get the chance to do much, but hey…better late than never, right? In addition, we finally get to see Tomoe actually attempt to justify the extended screentime she’s been getting lately (when she’s not standing back and scowling), only to find out that she isn’t really that good a fighter. Maybe a broken spear will humble that nutcase a little. Or not…
