Bad advice and other nonsense
Haven’t blogged in a while, so I’ve got quite a bit to say, and it’ll go off on tangents in some places, so bear with me.
First, congratulations to the Philadelphia Phillies for winning the World Series of Major League Baseball and giving the rest of the country one less reason to make fun of us. Now, we’ll only have to hear incessant “we still don’t have a championship ring after all these years” whining from Chicago (S)c(r)ubs fans. (I keed, I keed! Chicago’s a great sports city, really.)
Next, I finally finished watching the end of the first season of Code Geass last night, and it looks like season two is going to start up on Adult Swim tomorrow night. Still can’t figure out for the life of me why almost all of the fans hate Nina so goddamned much. She’s only on-screen for what…fifteen minutes total? Even Rivalz has more screen time, and he has even less plot importance. Fickle fanbases sure are funny.
My room (along with other portions of my house) are in a constant state of dis-repair at the moment, as we’re getting the kitchen completely redesigned. Work’s been ongoing for the past two weeks, and now the repairmen are about to come around and set up all of the cabinets and stuff. I’ve seen a virtual blueprint of what the kitchen is supposed to look like afterward, and I’m told it will be “spiffy”.
Against my better judgment, I purchased a PlayStation 3 over the weekend, along with a handful of disc-based and downloadable games (among them Burnout Paradise, Soul Calibur IV, DIsgaea 3, that Penny Arcade RPG, and Echochrome). Perhaps the biggest spree of impulse buying I’ve ever done, but at least it’ll keep me busy until I’m able to use the kitchen again.
Random thought on Kaleido Star episode 13: It’s kinda funny how Sora noticed the immense sparkliness exuded by Layla in the short time they’ve shared an apartment. Anything to get to know her better, I guess. This development can’t be good news for gool ol’ Ken the stage hand…
And finally, NaNoWriMo starts tomorrow! Thank goodness the first two days are weekends. Now, I should be able to get ahead of the game by word-spamming to my heart’s content. I can always edit it down later.
