Not exactly what it says on the tin

There’s this PlayStation 3 game called Everyday Shooter, but it sure as hell doesn’t look like any shooter I’ve played every day. I’m not entirely sure how to describe it…The easiest and most straightforward comparison I could give is “Robotron: 2084 meets Rez“. There isn’t any framing device for the game. You just go in, shoot stuff, and collect tokens for points. While you’re taking down the enemies with your bullets, the resulting sound effects play along with the background music. The overall effect is rather trippy.
I’ve only completed the first four levels (there are eight in all). The tanks in the fifth level are my favorite so far, but I haven’t been able to clear it yet. With a little practice, I should be able to get it. I just wish the chaining system didn’t change so radically between stages.
