So, there’s the bonus area in the Nintendo DS remake of Chrono Trigger called the “Lost Sanctum”. I managed to get to it after the rise of the Black Omen, and boy, is this sidequest long. I’ve spent roughly five hours going back and forth between the green portal from 65,000,000 B.C. and the one from 600 A.D. helping a band of Reptites bring their village back together after a monster attack. Earlier in the game, I had spent most of my time in pre-history helping the humans fight off the Reptites. I guess the Lost Sanctum must be in part of an alternate universe where they survived (that would explain the green gates in place of the blue ones). In any case, the Lost Reptites from the future seem to be doing well for themselves, and they’re at a point now where they’re building a bridge to god-knows-where. I just wish I had a miniaturized version of the Epoch handy so I could jump up and down the mountain without having to go through non-random encounters to reach the top.

- I just finished watching the enjoyable first season of Maria Watches Over Us (Maria-sama ga Miteru) this morning. Sadly, I’m still two whole seasons behind, but I’m going to take my time with them, since each is only twelve or thirteen episodes long and don’t need to be marathonned.
- Villanova made it to the Final Four. Is that awesome or what? Okay, so it’s bad news for my bracket, but being a local Philly guy, I can’t help cheering.
- My sister can’t decide whether or not she wants me to purchase Clannad or Princess Resurrection for her on her birthday. I may bite the bullet and purchase both for her if I’ve got enough money by the time that rolls around.
- One of the things I’ve wanted to do for a while was to rewrite the script to Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. It was a guilty pleasure for me growing up, because it was just so damn simple compared to every other Final Fantasy game ever (including the first one). Today, I found the original script and started work on it. About 2,000 words later, I’ve written as far as the Sand Temple. Unlike the actual game, this will take me longer than ten hours to complete.

…ten steps away from actual freedom. About two months from now, I should finally have paid off the credit card that I obtained in college, and cancelled about two years after I left college in order to get one with a more reasonable interest rate. Right now, the balance is currently sitting somewhere around $600, and it was hovering around $5,000 at its peak. Hey, the money for those college books and that personal computer had to come from somewhere, didn’t they? Soon, I’ll be left with a single credit card that I use sparingly, and a student loan bill which can only be expected to be reasonably paid off in ten years. It’s not an impossibility…really, it isn’t. As long as I keep telling myself that, I should do just fine.
