I was worried that I’d get yelled at for leaving work early yesterday, but it turns out that the work servers had been taken offline for several hours after the power went out to avoid a catastrophic failure. If I had stayed, I would have likely wasted at least two-and-a-half hours doing nothing. At least by going home, I got to do something productive, like cleaning up the kitchen a little bit. Some of my other co-workers had left early that day, too, deciding it wasn’t worth the wait. Luckily, things were back to normal today. Let’s hope they stay that way.
