Dungeon crawling class is in session

Rock Band Unplugged wasn’t the only new game I scored yesterday. Class of Heroes also made its way into my PSP collection. The best way to describe it is Wizardry or Might and Magic (you remember those, don’t you?) with a high school motif.

I’m still experimenting with the “ideal beginner’s party”, because not only is it important to take into account the classes each character has (I included an Evoker in mine because they know the very useful spell Vanishum, when simply “running away” doesn’t cut it), but also racial and alignment affinities. Elves and dwarves don’t get along, and Diablos don’t get along with anyone. I think I’ll make up two separate parties… one composed of Neutral/Good characters, and another of Neutral/Evil characters.

Cash also appears to be in short supply in the first level. I only seem to get any sort of money when fighting those coin-shaped enemies. And taking on Nasal Diggers this early in the game with my equipment? Forget it. I’d be lucky to do more than 2 points of damage at a time against them. I’ll have to stick around the entrance door to the dungeon (much like Wizardry and Might & Magic) until I get confident enough to look around some more.
