So I watched episodes 9 and 10 of Gurren Lagann the other day, where sparkle-spiral princess Nia showed up for the first time. When she first started talking, something immediately came to me:
NIA IS STARFIRE!
Think about it: both characters are weirdly-colored otherworldly princesses with odd speech patterns.
It’s weird. In the early ’90s, when video games were just starting to get popular again thanks to the NES and Sega Genesis, you used to see game-themed cartoons all over the place.
