Lunia and Drift City have been removed from my small collection of free-to-play MMORPGs. While I think Lunia is a decent game, I get these weird C++ assertion errors every time I boot it up, and I’m worried my computer may get damaged if I play it too long when those errors keep popping up. Drift City was fun for a while, but from what I’ve read at the forums, it’s been overrun by hackers, and there haven’t been any big updates or real fixes to this problem for a while. This might be a good step in paring down the number of games I have so that I can concentrate all my time on building up the characters for the games I enjoy most.

That’ll teach me to get complacent when I think I’ve done away with my credit card bills. I got another one from Bank of America today, after I had closed it several months ago. Granted, it was only for $10, butshouldn’t a big payment after the cancellation be the end of it? I’d better get this payment out to them before my credit takes yet another hit. *sigh*

…and only one step back this time. With only $513 or so left on my Bank of America credit card bill to pay off, I decided to just say “damn it all” and use the unused portion of my tax refund/paycheck to pay it all off at once. It’s a small step up, as now I only have to worry about keeping my current credit card’s balance under control (i.e. under $1,000). God(s) help me when it actually comes time to replace my damn computer…

…ten steps away from actual freedom. About two months from now, I should finally have paid off the credit card that I obtained in college, and cancelled about two years after I left college in order to get one with a more reasonable interest rate. Right now, the balance is currently sitting somewhere around $600, and it was hovering around $5,000 at its peak. Hey, the money for those college books and that personal computer had to come from somewhere, didn’t they? Soon, I’ll be left with a single credit card that I use sparingly, and a student loan bill which can only be expected to be reasonably paid off in ten years. It’s not an impossibility…really, it isn’t. As long as I keep telling myself that, I should do just fine.

Oh, how I dislike paying bills. I also dislike having to borrow money for college and books to pay for my bills, and therefore ending up paying back more in interest. It’s a vicious cycle, but it’s one of the cycles of life, I guess. Luckily, I’ve been able to whittle my credit card debt down to a manageable $3,000.
(Say what?)
