Following the heels of last week’s iMPACT, with Tommy Dreamer talking about all the blood and sweat he spilled in the original ECW (presumably leaving most of his tears in the iMPACT Zone), the “ECW Originals” – Dreamer, Rhyno, Stevie Richards, Raven (who now looks like a cross between Sting and Sandman), Mick Foley and Brother D-Von – start the night gathered together in the ring, branding themselves “EV 2.0″ (E-V-Dub…ahahaha, I get it).

As someone who watched WWF and WCW in almost equal fashion during the Monday Night Wars of the late 1990s, It still baffles me as to why WCW thought it was a good idea to make David Arquette their world champion. And yet, ten years and one week ago in Syracuse, NY (give or take a few days, since WCW Thunder’s shows were taped as opposed to Monday Nitro being broadcast live), it happened. Many wrestling fans like to say that the so-called “Fingerpoke of Doom” incident was the beginning of the end for the company, but in my eyes, it was the Arquette match that really brough things down. The moment Mickey Jay counted the 1-2-3 pinfall, you could almost hear the voices of thousands of angry marks screaming in unison.

So, my dad’s downstairs this morning watching last night’s taping of TNA Impact!
