Let me be your navigator

A small update to the blog this weekend (Happy Father’s Day, BTW, to all the dedicated dads out there). Cierra’s being put aside for a bit, along with the all-red layout and Althea (from Luminous Arc 2) is taking her place. Since WordPress 3.0 came out a day or two ago, I discovered there was a way to break up posts into multiple pages, instead of creating a whole bunch of them and linking them together.

RMNF by the numbers 2009

We’ve reached the end of a tumultuous 2009. It was a bit of a lean year for me writing-wise, but I managed to get reacquainted with my video game collection, and knocked a few of my current titles out of the park (Pokemon Ranger 2, welcome to the 100% club!) Site traffic was down overall [...]

Yuki-yes

Mao-HiME: Coming soon to a TV far away from you

A few months ago, there was an announcement regarding a new Mai-HiME animated series. Details have been scarce since then, but now, it looks like we have a few preliminary character sketches (kudos to LJ users hajiketobiume and shanejayell) and details about the new heroine. Meet Mao Kuzunoha, a 15-year-old spirit medium and transfer who’s…a [...]

Out of Mai’s comfort zone

After an extended break from fan fiction, I went ahead and wrote a short Mai-HiME story entitled Butterflies in My Head. I got the idea for it from yesterday’s 31_days prompt over at LiveJournal: “one night I dreamt I was a butterfly”. It just sounded like a perfect idea for putting Mikoto at center stage. With an equally (occasionally) breezy character like Midori “helping” her out, the fic practically wrote itself.
